Wow. What a night. The Chief team attended the 2018 Liverpool City Local Business Awards where our Director, Glen was recognised as Business Person of the Year. It was a very special moment. We’re all so proud. Congratulations Glen!
Chief Achieves Lr certification
Chief Fluid Systems recently received LR Certification for the Assembling of type approved hoses and couplings. We are now able to supply an array of LR type approved hose assemblies, with steel or stainless steel hose fittings, in sizes from DN5 thru DN63, 1 wire hose to 6 wire hose. Chief takes on apprentice
We are pleased to welcome Zac to the Chief Fluid Systems family. Zac joins Chief as a 1st year apprentices undertaking Cert 3 Mechanical Engineering courses. Zac will undergo intensive training within our organisation and with our RTO partner. We look forward to watching him grow into competent young tradesman.

Chief wins australia day award
We’ve just received a letter from the Liverpool City Council to advise that we’ve won an Australia Day Award! The Australia Day Awards are presented annually to local citizens and groups who have made outstanding contributions to the community. The awards are provided by the National Australia Day Council and are administered by local councils throughout Australia on their behalf. The Award will be presented on 26th Jan 2018 at an Australia Day Ceremony in Liverpool. We seriously have the most amazing team, working so hard day in, day out to make us the best that we can be. Congratulations Boys…you have earned this!!! And of course thank you to all our wonderful customers and suppliers who support us each and every day.

Navy visits chief
What an honour and a privilege yesterday for Chief. Captain John Metzl RAN MCPSPO Director and Mr Mathew Tildesley MCPSPO Chief Engineer paid us a visit this morning to view our premises and meet the Chief team. Our team was very excited to meet the Captain and his Chief Engineer and they had some kind words to say to the boys about their work and efforts in supporting the Navy. We also discussed our recent elevation to a ‘low risk’ (top tier) supplier to Defence, our ISO9001 accreditation and our DNV-GL Approvals for manufacturing hose assemblies.
CHIEF DEFENCE SUPPLIER STATUS UPGRADED
Chief are proud to announce that our Defence Supplier Status has been upgraded following a follow up audit conducted by Dept. of Defence – MCPSPO SQSA team. The tam at Chief worked on making improvements based on recommendations from our initial audit in 2016.
The improvements have resulted in CFS providing greater capacity for work, capability to train staff and certify equipment, which adds value and contributes positively to Defence seaworthiness requirements. CFS was assessed at 94% High confidence contract requirements will be met. Monitor on as requested by Contract Manager. This puts Chief in the Low Risk range on the Defence Risk Rating Scale.

CHIEF iso9001 certification RENEWAL
Chief has had their ISO9001:2008 certification renewed after a positive surveillance audit CARRIED OUT BY Sustainable Certification. The 2008 version of the QMS will soon be updated to reflect ISO9001:2015.

NEW CHIEF HEADQUARTERS
Our new Headquarters is up and running. Late 2015 it became necessary to move to a bigger location….well we found one up the road that was being built and decided that was the place for us. Our facility has doubled in size and capacity. If you have not been in yet to see our facility, do yourself a favour and drop in to our state of the art workshop…and a few surprises!!
CHIEF AUDITED BY DEPT OF DEFENCE
Recently we welcomed the Dept. of Defence – SQSA team who came to our new facility to conduct a Supplier Quality and Safety Assurance Audit. This provides confidence that suppliers are competent to undertake the scope of work, and delivered goods and services will satisfy contracted requirements. The Audit also ensures that suppliers engaged maintain appropriate safety procedures and practices to protect their employees and Defence personnel. We are happy to advise that Chief received a great report and we able to learn a lot from the experience.
CHIEF SUPPLIES NEW FUELLING PROBES
Chief Fluid Systems in conjunction with our Supplier HYDRASEARCH recently supplied the RAN with New Fuelling probes for both HMAS Success and HMAS Sirius. Chief worked with Navy to deliver the HYDRASEARCH RAS fuel probes as a replacement for two ageing, no longer supported probes. This initiative has enabled the creation of a common spare parts pool which has reduced repair turn-around time, through the Chief shop, to as low as 48 hours.
CHIEF PASSES ANNUAL ISO SITE AUDIT
Recently our Annual Surveillance Audit for ISO9001:2008 Accreditation fell due. The Chief Quality Management System was heavily scrutinised and we are pleased to announce that we passed for our third year in a row.
